The Pink House / Azores, Portugal

An old barn in the sunny Azores, that was remodelled to create two spacious guest houses with minimalist interiors that complement the rustic details of the pre-existing structure.

This is the Pink House in the Azores! This old barn has belonged to the host’s family for six generations and was redesigned into two contemporary guest houses, offering large open spaces with a minimal aesthetic that gives new life to the rustic details of the pre-existing structure. Designed by Mezzo Atelier which involved local artisans in the production process of custom-made furniture, this stunning villa has won the Paulo Gouveia Architecture Prize. Perhaps our favorite feature, however, is the beautiful terrace with fire pit - just perfect for a festive night all year round as winters there are quite mild!

The house offers wide open spaces across two floors and can accommodate five to seven guests with plenty of comforts. Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor while the living room and kitchen are on the 1st floor, opening up to an upper terrace. Additionally, a 30sq. the private suite offers an equipped kitchenette and an open living and dining room and is ideal for couples or small families and also offers a small terrace for private use. Guests can enjoy the tranquility, calm and natural rhythms of the gardens or take a dip in the pool and sunbathe on the lawn.
