Alemanys 5 / Girona, Spain
A remodeled 16th-century house in the historic quarter of Girona, that respects original features of the buildin but makes smart additions to create a fabulous living space.
This 16th-century house in the historic quarter of the medieval town of Girona in Spain has the most beautiful terrace with views over the Jewish Quarter. Alemanys 5, was remodeled into two apartments that respect the original features of the building, such as the brickwork walls and the pale stone but make smart additions to create a fabulous minimal living space.
The main building was restored to integrate old and new, with sober, clean lines that celebrate essential elements such as space, light, shade, fire, stone, water, nature and silence. The house can be rented as a single large home with five bedrooms, but it could also be divided into two independent apartments, “El Badiu” which has a master suite and two junior suites and “El Jardí” with the other two bedrooms and an additional bathroom. A fully equipped gourmet kitchen-dining space and a spacious living room with a fireplace are perfect for moments of relaxation with friends or family, but our personal favorite might be the spectacular south-facing veranda terrace, that offers an outside barbeque with exclusive views over the old quarter of Girona.
