Brick Lane / Shoreditch, London

A proposal for the interior of a development in London’s hippest neighborhood, Shoreditch, featuring custom-made furniture and modern finishes.

Marta Nowcika was commissioned to create a proposal for the interior of Seven7Bricks, a new site on the junction of Grimsby Street and Brick Lane, which was acquired by Charles James Developments. The development comprises 6 four-story townhouses, a maisonette, and 3 commercial units, which should all have individual characteristics with custom-made furniture and modern finishes. Unique for its central location at the heart of East London’s hippest neighborhood, Shoreditch, the space should reflect youth culture while keeping the focus on a live/workspace for busy lifestyles.

Flooded with light from the double-height mezzanine level and floor-to-ceiling windows, the versatile space is ideal for entertaining friends and working from home. The open-plan dining and kitchen area, designed for social interaction, has high-specification features, such as Corian worktops & splashbacks with integrated sinks and Smeg appliances. The bedrooms are luxurious, yet paired back, with ample natural light coming through the large windows and sleek wardrobes with countless storage space. The bathrooms offer a personal spa experience, with dark wall paneling, backlit mirrors, and a built-in tub with rain shower.
